He called for his wife and he called her by name.
It seems she was missing, nowhere to be found.
He searched through the house from the roof to the ground.
He had just ONE thought that flowed fast through his mind.
He remembered her telling of this Biblical sign.
Of the future forthcoming, tomorrow or today.
When the cloud would appear and sweep her away.
She said there is ONE that she’s known as a child.
He forgave her her sin and she was reconciled.
That though He had left He would come back again.
And because she was born she would then enter in.
He thought this ONE day was a myth or a tale.
Not for a moment did he think it’d set sail.
The game that she’d played was no game at all.
The “He” she had talked about just read the roll call.
And now ONE more thought just made him feel sick.
Could this day be for real or just a cheap trick?
What should he do that would give him some hope?
The TV showed thousands who were trying to cope.
He ran through ONE door and out into the street.
There were cars everywhere with empty front seats.
People were yelling that their loved ones were gone.
So much fear in their eyes; how would they press on?
Then all of a sudden ONE noise rang out loud.
It sounded like beeping far above the street crowd.
His eyes popped right open; he sat up in his bed.
He felt great relief knowing he wasn’t quite dead.
Now this ONE nights dream made him think just a bit.
That maybe his wife wasn’t playing a skit.
The life she was living might not be just for fun.
It was in preparation for “The ERA Of One.”
