Fragments of reality bumped
Against obstacles of illusion,
The healing that had begun
Was re-injured by intrusion.
Had she just imagined that
Her sister’s heart had softened,
Were they becoming the friends
Her prayers desired so often.
She thought it to be true
But then overnight it changed,
Another judgment cast--
Shards from life left them estranged.
Two hearts with murky caverns
Harboring bitterness and anger,
Hurting, though denying it
Within darkened walls of danger.
Seasons passed, they seldom spoke
Indifference seemed their norm,
But festering in each yawning cave
Was wreckage from their storms.
It would take a great physician
To mend their wounds so deep--
If only they would listen,
What one sows, each one will reap.
He heard the muffled cries
Emerging from their souls,
The time was right, His plan unfurled
And led them to His goal.
A new day dawned, light entered in
Dark caverns cracked and crumbled,
“Forgive,” she read; “Be kind and love,”
Each sister now He humbled.
Yesterday was Satan’s gain
But today’s a celebration,
His grace removed dirt and decay
That hindered their relations.
Ephesians 4:31-32 (NKJV) Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
