Another yearÖ
But Iím not older;
I swear it isnít true;
My bodyís just as healthy as it was at twenty-two.

OkayÖ
A few bones ache today
As they did the day before,
But thatís because I spent an hour slogging through a store.

I admitÖ
Iíve walked a faster pace,
But the words are small, you know;
How could any shopper read small print on shelves below?

NoÖ
I donít need glasses,
But thank you all the same;
The manager should raise the shelves so heís the one to blame.

And yesÖ
I am complaining;
This ordeal gave me back pain,
Bending down to reach canned prunes, I thought Iíd go insane.

Excuse me?
I can hear just fine,
And I donít forget a thing;
I know every word to any song Sinatra sings.

Of courseÖ
Now donít correct me,
Iím not often addlebrained;
My mind just needs reminders and some news to be explained.

Itís trueÖ
I dress old-fashioned,
But I know the current trends,
Just canít see wearing saggy pants to show off my Depends.

Another yearÖ
But Iím not older,
See, Iím younger every day;
Compared to my eternal life, Iím still a teen today.

Love it! Being now closer to eternity than I am to the day I was born, I can relate. Well-done.

I thought the structure of the poem was excellent and the rhyming lines. The thrid verse tripped me up - the last two lines didn't seem to lead on from the first two.

I liked the message...and the comment about baggy trousers.

Smile... love it!
I can relate more and more each year.
