But Iím not older;
I swear it isnít true;
My bodyís just as healthy as it was at twenty-two.
A few bones ache today
As they did the day before,
But thatís because I spent an hour slogging through a store.
Iíve walked a faster pace,
But the words are small, you know;
How could any shopper read small print on shelves below?
I donít need glasses,
But thank you all the same;
The manager should raise the shelves so heís the one to blame.
I am complaining;
This ordeal gave me back pain,
Bending down to reach canned prunes, I thought Iíd go insane.
I can hear just fine,
And I donít forget a thing;
I know every word to any song Sinatra sings.
Now donít correct me,
Iím not often addlebrained;
My mind just needs reminders and some news to be explained.
I dress old-fashioned,
But I know the current trends,
Just canít see wearing saggy pants to show off my Depends.
But Iím not older,
See, Iím younger every day;
Compared to my eternal life, Iím still a teen today.
