I'm cautioned not to let my heart grow hard,
Yet sometimes choose the way I know is wrong,
The way, for free will's sake, God has not barred,
And by His grace He often suffers long.
Conviction grows, then in my stubborn heart
Repentance and humility emerge,
And God's abundant grace and mercy start
My wandering heart, with love, to cleanse and purge.
Of consequences I must not complain--
The price of sin is often very great--
But on some rare occasions I may gain
Complete redemption from my choice's fate.
Such grace an mercy may I never dare
To count upon before I choose to sin,
But also never fail to declare
My gratitude for wrong redeemed, again.
Hebrews 3:13 "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
