The alarm sounds, the radio plays,
Traffic and weather to start my day.

Eating breakfast, the paper unfurled,
Reading stories from around the world.

Turn on the T.V., hear breaking news,
No lack of channels from which to choose.

Sign on the net, see friends far and near,
Their emails and updates bring great cheer.

Pick up the phone, to call or to text,
So many choices leave me perplexed.

Staying connected, we’ve many options,
Let me issue a word of caution.

All of these things may fail in a flash,
Relying on signals, power and cash.

Getting caught up in technology,
Can complicate life and make us busy.

Forget not your Father up in heaven,
His line is open twenty-four-seven.

Whisper a prayer, fall down on your knees,
Make a connection anytime you please.

Jesus is there, our cry he awaits,
Ever ready to communicate.

He is listening, our thoughts are known,
Any breakdown is fault of our own.

Great job! I really enjoyed reading your poem. Good lesson too.

This is beautiful and a great message that so many of us need to listen to in today's busy world.
