TITLE: The better way
By harvestgal Ndaguba

Okay...think. Think about the time that old snake told you Toby didn't like you. You believed it, right? You were shattered inside. You tore your heart from Toby and treated him cold. Then one day he grabbed you by the arms, looked you in the eyes and told you, he loved you. You were shocked and thought it was a joke, only to find it was true. He married you, too. The devil deceived you. Toby really did love you.

And what about the time that deceiver told you, you were sick? You thought you were dying. He put so much fear in you and you believed him. He could have killed you were it not for the mercy of God. I had told you to trust God and His Word, but you continued to doubt. Thank God, Toby believed the Word. He stood for you. He encouraged you and gave you the Word and your test from the doctors came back negative. You were restored to peace. That devil had lied to you again and you believed him, but Toby didn't. Is it not strange?

Think... has God ever lied to you? Has God's Word ever been false? But that snake tells you It's not always true. So if It's not always true, then what is true and what is false and who determines what is what? What does the Word say about that liar? It says he's the father of lies. Can he tell you truth?

Remember when you couldn't find your phone? You thought you'd left it in the Kitchen? He accused Toby and you believed him. You thought Toby got rid of it because the two of you had argued that morning over how much your cell phone bill was. You didn't believe Toby when he tried to defend himself. Remember...”Sherry, I didn't take your phone. I wouldn't do that,” he'd said calmly.

“You did! You chauvinistic fool. Do you think I'm stupid? You want to control me,”

“Chauvinistic? Sherry, I've never been that way. I didn't take your phone.”

“You did, liar. You took it. I wish you'd just get out of my life,” you replied.

Later you discovered you'd left it on the bathroom sink and placed your wash cloth over it when you were done cleaning the make-up from your face. Who is the accuser of the brethren? Think about it. Why do you still listen to him? He's got you blaming people when he's the real liar.

You wonder why you are so frustrated, angry and sad. You wonder why you attract the negative. What do you think on? What do you constantly meditate on? What seeds are you sowing into yourself and others? What words are you speaking? Are they words of life, or words of death and sorrow? Are they words of encouragement and gratitude, or complaints and sarcasm?

What does the Bible say? Remember Philippians 4:8? “Whatever things are true, noble, just, pure and lovely, think on these things. Whatever is of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy, meditate on these.” But you... you dwell on the negative and it's not good. That's why you produce rotten fruit. But now, Sherry, it's time to change, before you loose the many blessings God has given you.

Toby is one of your greatest blessings. And in your frustration, you want to walk out on him? Don' t make the biggest mistake of your life. You are the one who needs to change. Stop pointing the finger at him. He does some things you don't like. He annoys you at times. He's not you. You can't make him you. Let him be him and love him for who he is. Let him love you for who you are. Think before you act. Think God's way, the way the Word would have you think. Make the right decision and go the better way.

This is good advice for many. I know I often believe all those lies. Thanks for the message.
