Topic: Feel (emotions) (08/26/10)

TITLE: Feel (emotions)
By Brian Irons

Emotions play a key role in people’s lives. When God made man, he also made inside of man a human heart. Every human heart has been given the ability to operate from emotions. Emotions are given to every man from the breath of God. Although an emotion operates from within, it still has the ability to feel.
The bible says, “God made man in His image”. Since that is so, man has the ability to feel from his emotion. When you see this man, you should see the image of God. Also, when you see this man, you are looking at a person who has put the power to feel from emotions in.
Now a days, people’s emotions have changed. Something happened on earth, before any of us were born. It was Adam and Eve, who caused people to have mixed or different emotions. After Adam and Eve had eaten from a tree God commanded them not to eat from, their Godly image change, and so did their emotions.
Also, after Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they started to feel not so good in the Garden of Eden. Their emotions changed swiftly, and so did God’s.
Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the earth suffered because of what they did. People now operate on how they feel. The bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”.
The word “seemeth” could be translated as the word feel. People are now casting out judgments, and making decisions based on how they feel. They feel that a man or woman is compatible with them. Then find out later, that their emotions and feeling tricked them.
As Christians, we are not supposed to let our emotions and feeling interfere with making decisions. We must continue to remind ourselves that we are fleshly vessels. God brought us out of things pertaining to; “the flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh”. If we allow our feeling and emotions to keep making decisions for us, our emotions will continue to get hurt.
In other words, the bible is saying, make sure your decisions aren’t just made base on feelings. When I was in the world of sin, I made many decisions based on feeling. After vowing to that decision, my life went downhill. Yeah, I was one of the people whose life experienced the “ways of death”. Based upon that decision made in the long past, my life been on roads where I continually saw death.
People of the world, do not let your emotions rise up and make decisions for you. Remember, the flesh lusteth against the spirit. If people want to live healthy and prosperous lives, they must set their emotions and feeling to the side. It is time out for making decisions based on how you feel. Life was given by the Spirit of God. Therefore, decisions should be made according to His word, and not by emotions and feelings.
The last time people made a decision based upon how they feel, they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. When Eve saw that the tree was “desired to make one wise”, she was operating from emotions and flesh. The Spirit of God commanded her not to eat from the tree, but her desire, feelings, and emotions caused her to eat anyway.
If your feeling and emotions aren’t connected to new life, you will continue making decisions from flesh emotions. The spirit of God is against the flesh. Therefore, the spirit of God is against decisions made by worldy emotions.
Only God can righteously fulfill your emotions and desires.

You did a great job on elucidating emotions and what you believe is the right way to handle our human emotions. Although I'm not sure I agree with everything you said you made some valid points. We just never just act on pure emotion, it's so important to involve God in every decision. I commend you for knowing what you believe and for telling others. it gives us a chance to really think about our own beliefs and decisions. Good job, keep on telling it like you see it.:)
