TITLE: The Time to Care
By Jesus Puppy

Life is cold and uncaring, and it is the things we place in it that makes it so. Locked away in the cages of our own making. . . a world without meaning.

In our busy lives we flock to those things that come to us so quickly; food prepared in a fast food place by someone who doesn't even want to be there, served without a thought to how it will be received. Prepackaged items that were designed to be consumed for nutrition, not taste or value. Those rare occasions that the average family may sit to a meal, the day's happening clouds any thought of mutual conversation with secrets we hide from each other.

Where once we would walk to the park or store, now we hop in a car and zoom off to our favorite coffee shop. Malls are crowded with afternoon shoppers not meaning to buy a thing, but there all the same. Every thing the world has to offer under one roof, conveniently in reach.

Computers hold all of existence at our finger tips. Friends and family held in a little box so we don't have to leave the safety of our home to visit. We don't even have to dress to go out. Without seeing them or even hearing their voice, we can discuss plans that we already know wont come about-- and not even care if they don't.

And if by chance we do meet up, there we sit in our favorite Starbucks typing away on laptops and cell-phones we carry around in our pockets, sending out text messages instead of hearing anotherís voice. Lost in a world of the devils making, without seeing the truth for what it is.

Life has become cold and uncaring, we lock ourselves away in the cages of our own making. Without meaning, without feeling, without understanding why-- or even taking the time to care.

Oh how the Devil laughs at the tears of God as HE weeps for His lost children. Can they not hear Him calling His sheep to the gathering? Have we too lost the taste for such goodness in our haste to travel the worlds pathways? Why do they not see the pain such a life causes us-- leading to slothfulness? When was the last time we slowed down to smell the fragrant blessings of our God's great bounty-- or reached out with our hearts to touch His purest love? Can they not understand His blessing came with a cost, the blood of His priceless sacrifice for our lives. Is the heart of Man beyond feeling?

Matthew 6:33. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

You do make some very valid points. Although, for me the internet has opened up a whole new world with friends I never would have known before. But it oes get easier for me to just stay at home and not leave.

There is much truth in what you say. A lot of modern communication requires little emotional energy, and falls short of real heart to heart contact. However, as Christians, we are to find and use every way we're given to overflow with God's wonderful love. I hope your article will spur us on to do that.

I agree completely! Many people in our present society get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of "life" that they don't take the time anymore to truly live. As Christians, we should step out and set an example.
Great closing verse to wrap up your point.

So glad to see you writing my friend. Oh and ouch. You said it like it is...and what it is...is sad. This is packed with truth...the depth of reality stays hidden behind "man's" facades and has created a numb world.
