Friends stop dead in their tracks, when I announce that I could go blind and not mind in the least. Surely, there is something wrong with me, they insist. Not at all, I simply have a very different view of the world--

Obsessed with the feel of things, I am the strange woman who walks through the store, touching everything she sees. I love the feel of different textures! It is not enough to merely look at a given item; I want to feel its quality and potential usefulness with my own two hands.

The bark of a tree, the softness of a fleece sweatshirt, the gritty feel of dirt in my hands as I garden, the wiry texture of a dog’s coat and the warmth of a jar of sun brewed tea are all sensations in which I revel. If I did not reach out and touch the world, I feel as though I might miss something extraordinary.

We all know that we should take time to experience the life we live. Often, we encourage one another to slow down, to stop and smell the flowers… Why not pause a moment to touch the world?

An interesting view of blindness; you're a "touchy feely" person! I love your exuberant joy of all God's creations. It sounds like you don't want to miss a single thing.

Well written and an enjoyable read. A few too many commas but all in all, right on. :)

Nice! As you listed each item, my memory bank immediately drew up a remembrance of how the mentioned item feels. I enjoyed this!

That last line is pure poetry. The whole article is a great take on the topic and a wonderful message.

This gave me a WONDERFUL smile, for I too...love to touch "everything" :)

We should take time to "experience" what is all around us. How much closer to God we'd feel. Also, we should try to find more positives in our lives. See trials through different glasses. This reminds me of being like a little child. Great job.
