Let me say
To you today
A fine ‘adieu’,
To a lovely two.
Another could tell
You ‘fare thee well’
Or ‘bye-bye’
And let it lie.
A fond ‘cheerio’
Would be from the trio
And ‘happy landing’
As here we are standing.
A formal ‘goodbye’
Would make me cry
For our ‘parting’
Is just starting.
‘A pleasant journey’
To those on a gurney.
But some might scoff
At this ‘send-off’.
I could say ‘Godspeed’
And watch what you feed
Upon the cruise
Or it’s ‘toodleoos!’
A Italian ‘addio’
Sings on the radio.
‘Arrivederci’
Is singular and catchy!
‘See you later’
To my Mater and Pater
Or ‘Shalom’
‘Till you get home!
‘Sayonara’
Is the same as ‘Aloha’
Also shout ‘tata’
And ‘hasta la vista’!
French ‘A demain!’
‘Until we meet again’!
But I call ‘ciao!’
To you right now.
Do not despair
It is only the air.
This isn’t a mirage.
I’m here to say ‘Bon Voyage!’
