I’m trembling and quaking with knee-buckling fear,
The taunts of the tempter resound in my ear,
The task is enormous, no strength I can find
Then, quietly God’s Spirit brings these words to mind:

‘The Lord is my confidence’. I recall this truth,
His strength’s been my sustenance, each day since my youth.
He holds and He comforts, my refuge, my guide,
In Him is my confidence, nought else beside.

THE Lord is my confidence, the one God, the true,
The Powerful Creator who made me and you.
He stretched out the Heavens, He watches o’er all:
The mightiest nation, the minute, the small.

The LORD is my confidence, how precious this Name:
My Jesus, My Saviour, unchanging, the same,
His arm is unyielding in might, power and strength,
His love is immeasurable in height, depth and length.

The Lord IS my confidence, not ‘was’ or ‘will be’.
But eternally present, right now and for me.
No task and no person, no place and no power
Can sep’rate me from Him one minute, one hour.

The Lord is MY confidence, I personally say,
I’m held by His love and His Presence alway.
My Shepherd, Redeemer, my Friend and my All,
His ear always listening to my faintest call.

The Lord is my CONFIDENCE and here I will rest.
I trust in Him only, His strength and His grace,
I know He’s sufficient, I know He will guide,
I worship, I trust that 'The Lord will provide.'

Hmph tempter, your taunts I’ll now face with disdain,
Hmph, why did I listen to your lies again?
On God’s Word alone I will now take my stand
I see that my fears were the work of your hand.

Love the meter of this, and the wonderful rhymes and message. Very nicely done.
