The heavens fell silent upon the world.

It had become a glorified ball of mud which had chosen to speak of God no more. For the sake of human progress, the people devoured the concept of faith and followed the religion of pure logic. All have left quietly, and after, the screams began.

For this I sang a gentle requiem for the forsaken. The good have not gone to heaven, but the forgiven. They have screamed about how unfair God was by choosing one and not the other. When they knew beyond all knowing that God existed, they despised Him for making the world the way it was. They scorned Him for making His children the chosen beloved.

So He sang a lullaby for the Apocalypse. The horsemen played His melody on their steeds, and their wailing fell silent. Their peace became that of the serenity of the cemetery. They became one people and in unity as they had hoped, but not as they expected. They no longer hungered or thirst. All who were left behind were equal in every shape and form. All they do is exist and burn in a lake.

Such was the stillness of the scorched rock that was the planet.

A held breath was all that remained. The awe of the New Heaven brought silence once again.

Very powerful and thought-provoking words.

This was intriguing, perhaps further development needed, but I liked it.

Disturbing, baffling, puzzling, confusing and definitely way above my head. Some beautiful unique phrases, but my brain couldn't comprehend most of it. (Guess my brain is like a library - with all my books checked out. Sorry).
