Walking down the street one day, slipped on a patch of ice
The fall was broken by a bush, for which I thought was nice
Could have broken both my arms in such a simple fall
Many things that might have been but for a close call
Planned to visit coastline blue, but found instead detain
So glad was I that I was late and missed the hurricane
Could have busted everything goin’ up in the squall
Many things that might have been but for a close call
Put on some pants, then took them off spying a big hole
Thank God I had not worn the out, for all to see my…soul!
Could have slipped by my attention, brand new from the mall
Many things that might have been but for a close call
I don’t know why all the hurry, leaving parking space
But as I left I saw a cart flying in that very place
Could’ve had to call insurance so they’d know it all
Many things that might have been but for a close call
Must be someone watching me to help me through the day
And I know just who it is, for it is what I pray
Could have come out many ways but HE is on the ball
Many things that might have been turned out just a close call!
