I feel like I just stepped into the Temple. Your atmosphere is almost tangible. Excellent story to pick - unexpected yet so perfect.

Excellent, fresh Biblical fiction! The tone and atmosphere had me hooked from start to finish. I expect to see this one rank high. Very high. Wow.

I'm with the other commentators on this; it is an awesome read. You perfectly depicted the darkness of those days in Judah. I had never seen the hope held out by the boy king Joash as being a foreshadow of the hope born when Jesus came, but there was that distinct messianic feel to your writing. It also struck me how very brave the royal nurse was. We overlook those minor characters in Scripture, but they too were key players in God's plan.
My only suggestion is that you include a Bible reference when basing your story on a more obscure Bible passage like this one. I don't know that all readers would be so familiar with OT history as to recognise what this story is about.
