Lord, take away the, “Grrr,” that roars inside of me,
all the howls I make, when things don’t go my way.
Teach me to be patient, tranquil, and calm,
Give me a thankful heart, for all you do each day.
Lord, take away the, “Grrr,” which groans inside of me,
all the moans I make, when I’m feeling down and low.
Teach me to keep my faith, soaring above my woes,
Give me a grateful heart, so in me Your love can grow.
Lord, take away the, “Grrr,” which rumbles inside me,
all the thunder I build up, when others make me mad.
Teach me to be loving, courteous, and . . . nice,
Give me a caring heart, so Your mercy I can add.
Lord, take away the, “Grrr,” that bellows inside me,
all the shouts and yells, when frustration is all I feel.
Teach me to be tender, gentle, meek, and kind,
Give me a heart that’s willing, so my life You may heal.
Lord, take away the, “Grrr,” that bellows inside me,
all the growling that I've made, just because I could.
Teach me to know, “That all things work together,”
Give me a heart that understands, "For my own good.”
