“The Bible says that? Huh! You’re sure?
Such things to me seem so obscure!
But I will search myself and see
If this is all foretold to be.”

Back then I did not comprehend
The promises in God’s Word penned--
The Lord’s return, the end of days,
To me was all a mystic haze.

My ‘huh’ spoke loud of unbelief;
I’d long been hoodwinked by the thief,
But as I studied in God’s Word
A ‘huh’ of real amazement stirred.

Long years I’ve travelled down this track
And never think of turning back;
His Word I take as absolute
In all things, major and minute.

It speaks of Christ’s foretold return
For which believers watch and yearn,
A worldwide Kingdom He’ll install,
Reverse the curses of the ‘fall’.

That time of awful troubles come,
Precedes the Kingdom of the Son—
Such troubles never seen before,
Harsh times of judgement, death and war.

“Huh, huh”, I hear some comment here--
Accusing me of preaching fear;
It’s not my word but His I bring—
His Word is not an idle thing.

Though unbelievers huff and puff,
They shake their heads, they scoff and laugh--
Just as it was in Noah’s day
Before the flood took all away.

A lyrical take on a very important theme, but your "Huh" seem smore dismissive than the questioning tone that I'd read in the topic. (Mind you I may be wrong, as I've been wrong before: once back in 1998 and another time in 1992 when I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken!)

I think I got it right-each huh is used with a different meaning; question, disbelief, amazement. Kudos to you.

Btw, good rhyming poetry too.

I like this poem very much. I like the 4th stanza, especially where you say you never think of turning back. Good job.

Good poetry--good theology--good testimony.

After I read Patricia's comments, I went back and read the poem again. Yep, it's there. Very creative. I enjoyed the Truth of the message as well.
