Black
Hopeless, abandoned,
Charred and destroyed.
Job sits in a heap of ashes, clothed in sackcloth.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

Red
Passion, lust,
Fire and blood
Rehab aided and trusted two strangers with her life.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

White
Diseased and dying,
Lost and thrown away.
Ten lives restored; but only one came back to give thanks.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

Blue
Lost, depressed,
Adrift and scared.
Jonah waits, sitting in the fish's belly, lifting up his voice.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

Green
Life, hope,
Promises and renewal.
Sarah's womb restored and gave birth to laughter.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

Yellow
Peace, rested,
Safe and sound.
Mary counts the fingers and toes of her Baby Boy.
Waiting, seeking, praying
To hear God's voice once again.

Very nice—one small correction. It was Rahab I think you meant. Well done.

I reall enjoyed this poem, especially the repeated lines which adds to the central message. I would think that a male/female narration of this would be as beautiful to hear as this was beautiful to read.
Very, very nice work.

Soooooo enjoyable ... yes, that is the right word ... your words made the colors dance within my soul ...

I like the way you have woven colour truths and Biblical history together to make this a meaningful poem. Colin

You have great word choices in your free-verse poem (and much creativity with the Bible characters/colors).

Ruth, I'm going to feature this in the Front Page Showcase for the week of May 24. Look for it on the FaithWriters home page--and congratulations!
