Where is the Water that once it did flow?
He walked and talked it years ago
Its washing watered the souls one and all
Who heard His voice took hold of the call

From water to scroll its words to ascribe
His writings passed throughout Hebrew tribe
Through translators hands it turned ever so
But most Water’s Truth, still it did flow

Pharisee’s adoption of this water’s course
Yellowed the paper with their rules of force
Where is the water we used for our cleaning?
The Maker was lost within their new meaning?

Where is the Water, the early church binge?
Some made it turn to a slight yellow tinge
A filter is needed to keep out the dross
To purify water let it pass through the cross

Get back to the filter in Water of Word
And you will hear God just as you should
The filter is Jesus; His water is pure
He won’t leave you jaundiced, of this I am sure

[John 4:14 Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. KJV]

I liked the flow and rhythm of this and really noticed the second line of the last stanza because it didn't follow the pattern. An interesting use of the topic, one that makes you think a little.

Nice use of the word yellow. Well-written.
