When I was young
I couldn’t help but stare
My eyes on the Yellow Sun
Mom said I should not dare
But it was so big and strong
Your eyes will be hurt, if you look there
She told me that over and over
But honestly, I just didn’t care
I could feel the warmth
See the amazing glare
And as I grew older
People began to share
Telling me more about
The Yellow Sun out there
Its amazing size and story
Other topics didn’t compare
I told everyone I knew
They called my excitement quite rare
And now that I’m much older
I see a new subject as fair
There’s another Son
Causing me to stare
My eyes on the Father’s Son
Mother said I should dare
His shoulders are big and strong
Your eyes should be focused there
She tells me that quite often
And honestly, I really do care
I can see His sacrifice
The washing white glare
And as my faith grows older
With others I begin to share
Telling them plenty about
The Father’s Son right there
His amazing love and grace
Worldly tonics can’t compare
I tell everyone I meet
The Father’s Son’s love is in incredibly rare
