PURPLE DIVINITY

Purple mountain majesties

Below bright skies of blue,

Wondrous works of nature

Of every color hue.

Creation was Your handiwork

In heaven and on earth,

From solar systems' vast expanse

To every child's birth.

Purple robes of majesty

To show You are divine,

The image of our God on earth,

Creator of mankind.

The Head of all the body,

Your church, Your earthly home,

The place Your Holy Spirit dwells

Within each heart Your home.

The cross became Your mission

To save us all from hell,

Because of Your great love for us

You took our sins as well.

That was Your purpose from the start

To come, to love, to serve,

To pay the penalty we owe

And thus our souls preserve.

For purple is Your color

From royalty You came,

And though it's black that we deserved

It's red that overcame.

Colossians 1:15-23
