when life, in it's grandest moment of love,
presents itself willing to suffer unto birth,
to the giving and nurturing of tiny souls,
a time of splendor and delight is found

when trembling cries of sickness or fright
pierce the quiet of night's sleep
sending weary feet rushing through darkened halls;
stumbling over plastic pink dishes, toy soldiers
and long-haired skinny dolls with famous names,
a time for caring and comfort abounds

when dusty closet shelves become keeper
of etches and sketches of crayola days
and nursery rhymes and childhood games
are relinquished for the finer teachings
of creation, knowledge and wisdom,
a time for constant prayer surrounds

when the breakfast table of youth
is lined with bibles of neighborhood believers
and the family dinner hour tolls loudly
of the day's blessings amidst the troubles
of a broken and lost world,
a time for thankfulness resounds

when the empty rooms of the house
echo with the song of long awaited dreams
rocking to the hushed lullaby of infancy,
marching to the transition of pomp and circumstance
or dancing to the romantic canon in D,
a time of rejoicing is bound

when the heart of a tearful mother
surrenders to the emptying nest
and understands her training them up
faithfully means letting them go
believing in His word and trusting
her acclaimed adventure reflects
a time of joy and blessing, a life crowned

This is so eloquent. Your end line of each stanza ties this together so beautifully. Wonderful work on this! It touched my heart!
