“School Days, School Days, Dear Old Golden Rule Days….”

“Would you look at the mountainside? It’s as if God opened a new box of Crayola’s® and spilled out all the crayons!’’

“Let’s get these bulbs in the ground before it’s too late.”

“Did you see those clouds this morning? They’re hanging low enough to touch.”

“Tall, double shot, mocha, no whip please— and make that a hot one—my ‘iced’ days are on hold for now!”

“Come sit with me on the deck honey. We won’t be able to enjoy these kinds of evenings much longer!’

“Have you seen my umbrella?”

“Is it dark outside already?”

“Got to mow the lawn—probably the last time for the season.”

“There’s a dance after the game tonight. Do you have a sheet I can borrow? It’s a toga party.”

“I can’t believe they have Christmas Stuff for sale in the stores already!”

“Look at the size of this squash! My garden is exhausted from all the zucchini.”

“Indian Summer — gotta love it!’”

“New Season of ‘Lost’ starts this week—Whoo-hoo!”

“Mmmm, the apples in the orchard smell exquisite!”

“Guess we should put up the patio furniture.”

“Time to rake leaves.”

“Have you seen my rain coat?”

“Do I smell chili?”

“Jack Frost came last night.”

“Football!! Whoo-hoo!”

“In fourteen hundred and ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue…”

“Boy that crisp air feels good! Look – I can see my breath.”

“Do we turn the clocks backwards or for—oh yeah, fall back!”

“Have you seen my rubber boots?”

“Nothing like a flannel shirt to wear to ward off the chill.”

“I voted!”

“Hunting season! Whoo-hoo!”

“Do I smell cider?”

“Listen to that wind; it’s really picking up!”

“I need to get my flu shot.”

“This is the perfect pumpkin for carving!”

“Don’t forget to check the anti-freeze levels in the cars.”

“Did you remember to pick up candy for the trick or treat-ers?”

“Don’t you just love the sound walking through the leaves makes?”

“Want me to light a fire in the wood stove this morning?”

“Do I smell pumpkin pie?”

“Have you seen my long johns?”

“Have you ever just stood outside and watched the smoke as it rises from the chimney? There’s something poetic about the way it unfurls into a thin line, and then gradually disappears.”

“Turkey and stuffing! Whoo-hoo!”

“Batten down the hatches; it’s gonna be a soaker!”

This is different, creative and fun! I feel like I've been sitting at the local cafe eavesdropping on the folks around me. Each line was indeed a snap shot, and evoked wonderful scenes. I love the lines about God's crayons, a garden exhausted from zucchini, & the poetic smoke. (and I WISH a new season of "Lost" was on but alas, we must wait until Feb 2010, I'm told.) Good job!

Nicely done. Lots of little snap shots make a great autumn collage.

Fantastic! What a montage of thoughts all relating to the same theme! Different.
