LATER...

Good morning, Lord!
I wish I had more time to talk with You.
But I must cram for my exam, plus book reports are due.
Now just You wait, Youíll be impressed,
When I get my degree.
So check back Lord and when Iím done,
Iíll serve You faithfully.

Well hello, Lord!
It seems like years since I last spoke with You.
My business plans are going well, and my investments, too.
Now just You wait, when Iím secure,
Iíll serve You Lord with much.
Letís talk again when things slow down,
Perhaps sometime for lunch?

Excuse me, Lord.
I know Youíd like to spend some time with me,
But donít You know, itís family night; we plan to watch TV.
Itís gotten hard to go to church.
The kids have lots to do.
But once theyíre grown and on their own,
Iíll find the time for You.

Is that You, Lord?
I must admit my hearingís not too good.
If I were young the things Iíd do to serve You, if I could.
But Iím too old, You must agree,
My usefulness has ceased.
Now I must go and get on board
The seniorsí cruise to Greece.

Oh, my goodness...how the Lord must tire from hearing these words over and over again...from so many of his children. You hit this particular "adulthood" nail right on the head.

Woops! This person almost missed Adulthood, sliding quickly into Seniorhood, missing out on the blessings of being an adult, chosing rather to put it off until LATER...Well done. I loved the poetry...Helen
