Naomi, I offer my arms to embrace you
stop turning your angry face from me
mercilessly judging yourself, me, others
Cling to Ruth and I am there
let me dry your tears, my sweet darling, for
. . . I love you

Arms of love waiting to hug me?
not true
love abandoned me
death stalking my dearest ones
until I am alone
no love
no one to comfort, to comfort me
. . . no, call me Mara

Naomi, I offer my arms to support you
stop fruitlessly exhausting your soul
fearing famine within and without
Lean on Ruth and I am there
let me show you heavenview, my sweet darling, for
. . . I love you

Arms of love waiting to encourage me?
not true
love afflicted me
salt-caked mirages offering bitter sustenance
withered, hollow, irrecoverable
no love
no one to treasure, to treasure me
. . . no, call me Mara

Naomi, I offer my arms to lead you
stop centering on yourself
full of arrogant self-pity
Help Ruth and I am there
let me direct you otherward, my sweet darling, for
. . . I love you

Arms of love waiting to heal me?
if true
love revives me
peoplescapes painted with bold color-strokes
vigorously bustling
all love
so many to shepherd, to shepherd me
. . . yes, call me Naomi

Naomi, I offer my arms to cradle children
stop coasting the fringes of my covenant
pretending to trust
Adopt Ruth and I am there
let me provide your savior, my sweet darling, for
. . . I love you

Arms of love waiting to rock me with my grandson?
it is true
love saves me
death conquered
boundless panoramic hope, radical and soaring
forever love
always someone to hearten, to hearten me
. . . yes, call me Naomi

beautiful, just beautiful!

You have wonderful alliteration in this, "fearing famine." I like your words here, "salt-caked mirages offering bitter sustenance -- withered, hollow, irrecoverable." Your last stanza left me smiling. Perfect!

Wonderfully crafted poetic message. Congrats.
