The demons shiver on the edge,
They fidget like the dancing shadows;
Afraid to charge the candlelight,
They know they cannot win the fight…
The war’s been fought a trillion times,
The darkness battles with the light;
And just like every time before
It is the light that wins the war…
The darkness cannot gain an inch,
But light will push it back a mile;
The victor will not lose a stride,
But beats his foe wherever he hides…
You say you’ve witnessed light’s demise?
You say you’ve seen the darkness win?
’Tis only when, in times of doubt,
The light has chosen to go out…
A light that stands and will not fade
Will win the fight on any day!
No demon can suppress the flame,
No enemy can fight his claim…
My friend, we cannot lose this war,
Because the Light is on our side…
We cannot lose a single fight
When Jesus is our shining light…
