Faith in Jesus makes us whole
Free from sin the cross’s goal
The Savior nailed to His call
Victory for us one and all
Is this how far our faith will go?
Continued victory all will show
That life goes on farther still
Beyond the cross in God’s Will
The cross is where the old man dies
Without this we must realize
That life cannot be at its best
Without the old man put to rest
Sin is laid upon the tree
But we must rise again to see
That God has a much greater plan
Born again; a new man
Sin is dealt a final blow
When once we rise again to show
That victory is beyond the cross
Leaving stubble hay and dross
Our sinful self before the cross
Shame and sorrow with much loss
Then to nail it to a tree
And rise beyond to victory
Death of self must be laid down
For us to reach the golden crown
To be a living sacrifice
Shaking off all sin’s vice
Before the cross is much despair
I would not want to stay there
Nor at the cross and not beyond
To get there takes no magic wand
We must rise and be made new
Not all make it but a few
Rise again where there is laughter
Not in the cross but the life after
