I was born
A happy morn
But mom states
ďBig mistake!Ē
My heart sobs, as it absorbs.

Dad has left
Mom bitterly wept
She fiercely declares
ďTíwas my mistake.Ē
My heart agrees, as it retreats.

Ten years old
Mom still scolds
None to play
ďIllegit!Ē they say
My heart rends, as it contends.

Teen years come
Iím a hoodlum
Momís constant swears
I donít care
My heart sobs, yet it adsorbs.

Got no job
To earn I rob
People I slay
Lay them waste
My heartís cold as it revolts.

All people fear
When Iím near
No one cares
I am waste
My heart hurts, yet it retorts.

Off to jail
No one bails
About to die
Prayer I try
My heart cries, it feels remorse.

Mercy arrived
Her daddy died
From my blow
Yet forgiveness flows
My heartís absolved, as it observes.

Grace from above
I didnít deserve
Job and wife
No family strife
My heart intakes, as it partakes.

Love gently melts
Like never felt
Knows my past
Lets it pass
My heart warms, as it conforms.

New memories made
Old ones fade
Forgive my own
Build my home
My heart loves, as it unfolds.

Love I bear
Enough to share
People I care
Bring from despair
My heartís love now overflows.
