When burdens on my shoulders sit
And troubles make me weary,
Recollections rise from memory banks-
"Look up," a pastorís theory.

Sometimes my first reaction
Is to think of poor, poor me,
The more I stew in pity,
The less I call on Thee.

Forgive me when I shut the door
Forgetting You are there,
If only Iíd look up to You
And talk with You in prayer.

You may not give the answer
To my pleadings right at first,
But when I keep my faith in You
Loads get lighter--never worse.

Please help me Lord, today Iím down,
Thereís needs I cannot meet,
Iíve disappointed yet again,
This world knows my defeat.

ďLook up,Ē keeps ringing in my ears,
Is that You calling me?
I cast my eyes heavenward,
ďYes,Ē a voice said tenderly.

He knew the needs I spoke of--
Iím one within His flock.
He gave me strength sustaining,
This God, He is my Rock.

Nice rhythm in this piece and a good lesson for all to keep looking up - even when it takes some effort.

Nice poem and a wonderful reminder to always look "up" to our Heavenly Father.

Beautiful reminder. I love the rhyme and meter; very easy to read. Thanks for sharing these wonderful words!
