Even the king wished you dead upon your birth.
For never has there been such controversy,
Than the short years that you walked upon this earth.
The claims that you made were quite outrageous,
The “Son of God”, you’d come to set the captives free.
A sinless man; accused, despised and scorned by cowards,
Who took your life as you hung nailed to a tree.
The story comes to fullness three days later.
You rose again, forever sealing mankind’s fate.
Accepting you would mean eternal life in glory,
But instead so many choose a life of hate.
And now they claim you can’t say “Christ” at Christmas.
They want your name taken out of their holiday.
But little do they know that by their actions,
A very heavy price they’ll have to pay.
Don’t you take the “Christ” out of my Christmas.
This holiday I choose to celebrate His birth.
For when you take the Christ out of this Christmas,
You remove the only gift with lasting worth.
