If I dare I'd tell the truth
About my deceptive sin:-
I had told a great whopper
And would have come a cropper,
So I kept it all within.
If I dare I'd tell the truth
Of trashing a model plane:-
It was the pride of a chum
But it had made me feel glum,
So I broke it into twain.
If I dare I'd tell the truth
Of a soup stain on the mat:-
It had been my fault - of course!
Yet I felt little remorse,
So I blamed it on the cat.
If I dare I'd tell the truth
Of a drink I laced with scent:-
A trail, to my sister led,
She had the spray by her bed,
So I never did repent.
I will this time tell the truth
Of the title of these rhymes:-
It is a hook with a bait
To give my dirt on a plate,
And be read for many times.
