He'll sit by his empty dish
And because he's my little, four-legged friend
He immediately gets his wish.
Then when he needs to go outside
To attend to a personal chore
He'll give me what I call - "The Look"
Then patiently waits by the door.
To show me that he loves me
He'll give me a kiss on the face
Then to return the favor, I'll ruffle his fur
And throw him a bone to go chase.

Whenever there's a thunder storm
Fido will disappear
But I find him trembling 'neath the bed
And try to calm his fear.
Okay, so we play a game of Charades
Or perhaps it's just pantomime?
But gestures and signs, they do the trick
And we get along just fine.
Daily I look into his eyes
And daily he looks in mine
We read each others' every thought
In the silence of pantomime.
His eyes are brown and mine are blue
But our read is crystal clear
We see the love in each others' eyes
That words cannot interfere.
Call it Charades or whatever you like
But Fido has a gift from above
God gave him the art to communicate
And there's nothin' like his tail waggin' love!
