Where does your heart repose, my Love?
Has it descended in the sea?
Have waves of tears engulfed the boat,
And drowned the dreams you held for me?

Where does your heart repose, my Love?
Has it been swallowed by the night?
Has darkness dimmed the light you shined,
’Til love was set beyond your sight?

Where does your heart repose, my Love?
Has it been lost in pages past?
Have dying dreams of yesterday
Snuffed out a love that couldn’t last?

Where does your heart repose, my Love?
Has it been hiding in the trees?
Does it await a kiss of love
To give your dreams their liberty?

Wherever you may hide, my Love,
My heart is chasing after you –
In everything this life may hold,
I need your love to make it through…

If your heart’s lost beneath the sea,
Or swallowed by the darkest night,
I’ll use the stars to guide the way
And free your heart from every plight—

I’ll seek you in the pages past
And bring you kisses in the trees—
No matter where your heart may hide
I’ll come and give the love it needs…

Search for lost love and love's promise are clearly shown in your poem.

Persistant love that does not die but finds a way to give itself rather than to give up is beautiful. Thank you!

I bet your fiance (or maybe wife now?) loves your poetry. You are definitely a master of this writing genre. I'm very happy to see you place in the advanced top 3, Ben. You deserve it.

I echo Joy's comment. I usually don't leave comments on poetry because it intimidates me. It seems so magically put together. This is beautiful!! Congrats on your win!
