I meet you on the bridge each morning at 7. No one knows I am there; it is our little secret. It started innocently enough. I would drag myself out of bed and convince myself to walk a mile to get there. Some days I wouldn't show up, even though I knew it would hurt you. Soon though I was really beginning to enjoy your company and couldn't wait to meet you. I would sneak out of bed quietly to ensure I didn't wake my husband, and then I'd walk as quickly as I could to the bridge.

There are not a lot of people out at 7 in the morning so we usually have the bridge to ourselves. When it is empty we listen to the sound of the rushing water below. Usually it is cold and my teeth chatter as I share with you what's been going on in my life. Some days we just sit silently and enjoy each other's company. After awhile we stand up and take a walk. You always bring my attention to the little things I would miss, like the tulips sprouting or the little rabbit family hidden under the snowy rock. When it is warmer we watch the people go by...the young married couple holding hands, the little boy throwing bread over the side to the ducks.

You have never missed a meeting on the bridge. You always come- to listen, comfort me, share my joys and my pain. You are my constant in a world where things are always changing. You are my encourager, always pushing me to do more than I ever would on my own. You always let me share my feelings, no matter what they may be. Sometimes you don't like what I have to say and you let me know it. But that's why I keep coming back. No one gives it to me straight like you do. I wouldn't give up our secret meetings on the bridge for anything. You're my best friend, my confidant and best of all, my Savior.

A nice way to meet with the Lord, in a peaceful setting. Well done.
