Yes, how many relationships could be improved with a little conversation--or two--or three. Great setup for a great message on the topic.
Very well written story. There was a feeling of reality about it with all the different characters talking and commenting almost at the same time. I don't think I could have been as gracious as your MC if my children were spoken to and treated like that. I felt sorry for your MC, that her husband didn't realise what was happening. Great story Willena, well done :)
Perfect job of setting the backdrop for the message of the story. I was glad the MC was no longer going to tolerate the behavior.
Great descriptions here. I felt right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of getting ready for a large Christmas gathering. Hopefully the talk will help keep this large, loving extended family enjoying time together for a long time to come.
What a day!
You delivered so much given the word limit, I knew exactly what was going on the whole time.
Great job, I enjoyed the entire piece, especially how you came back tot he little tree.
Love the ending--you left it up to the reader to supply the next conversation, but you led us expertly there, so we knew what to expect. Very good with the multiple characters--that's hard to do in an ultra-short story.
Indeed it is time, I'm glad that she finally is going to speak up and that they can communicate about this. I felt bad for the kids when they weren't really 'spoiled' but were being told and treated otherwise. Good job. ^_^
I loved your descriptions, and I was ready to have a little talk with Jeff myself for not noticing what was going on and putting a stop to it.
Oh so very, very real! Well written indeed.
