A bud needs nurturing to blossom,
And face the rain that flails the heart;
It needs an anchor to hold firm
When winds of pain have shoved it down;
So God’s provided all of this:
The roots sustain the buds with love…
A seed needs watering to grow,
To reach up high and make its mark;
It needs the rays of light for life,
For it will die without this care;
So God’s provided all of this:
He gave a sky with clouds and sun…
An egg needs cherishing to open,
To bring a chick into the world;
Alone, in darkness, all is lost,
Without the prick of life through love…
So God’s provided all of this:
The one who sticks it out through everything…
A heart needs nurturing to blossom,
To bloom and grow into a man;
It needs a hand to guide its steps
To learn to glow with tenderness;
So God’s provided all of this:
The one who sows the seeds of love…
