The Church-

A Church-

Your Church-

His Church-

Her Church-

What does it mean? Is it a body of people who believe in Jesus? Is it a building with amazing architecture, is it a place to judge or a place of unconditional love?

In Las Vegas, in the church of Elvis, you can marry your sweetheart.

Satan can be worshipped in a church in San Francisco.

Betty says, “my church believes in the saints.”

Jack says, “I don’t believe in your church, it’s a cult.”

Dan says I am bitten by holy snakes.

George believes in miracles.

Mary says, “well my church has the truth and you will be an infidel if you are not baptized into it. But, you are welcome to come. You just can’t serve or have your name on the books.”

I said to Mary, “my name is already written down.”

Interesting, creative, and oh, so true in many instances - something to think about.

Much to ponder here.

I would love some more elaboration on some of these.

Keep writing - I enjoyed this read.

You've made some true observations concerning the variety of churches and what the word means to people.

Hi, and I thank you all for the comments. When the challenge said write about "the church;" not "body of believers;" I wanted to give a more provocative view of the phrase "the church." I am so glad that it was food for thought to use a worn out cliche'. Many Blessings and a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you.

Sincerely, Beverly J Raffaele
