Although I walked through blazing flames,
The Water came - I wasn’t burned.
He doused me with the truth, with hope.
By teaching me, He helped me cope.
So grateful for each truth I learned.

The heaviness unbearable -
I frequently began to choke.
The haze so thick, could barely see
The hazards just ahead of me.
But Deluge saved me from the smoke.

So when I see first flickering
Or dancing flames intent to kill,
I let the Douser speak through me,
So brothers, sisters then may see
The Surging Force is with them still.

To listen, pray, a privilege
When right through me Truth overflows.
Such healing work is never mine,
But from the Drenching One each time,
And I am just the fire hose.

Although I walked through blazing flames,
The Water came - I wasn’t burned.
He soaked me with the truth, with hope.
By teaching me, He helped me cope.
I’m blessed to share each truth I learned.

“…When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…” Isa. 43:2
