Touching Grace

One day I was talking to my spiritual mentor. We shared almost every subject you could imagine and some extra. For instance, as a writer I cannot stand interruptions. Then one day he told me to pay more attention to my interruptions because often God sent them on purpose. I really struggled with interruptions coming from God. But nonetheless, I listened to his counsel. We finally came to that oldest of intrusions: Death. I explained to him I didn’t mind dying, but I had so many things unfinished, not in the least, much of my writing, the good stuff and the bad. He turned to me and locked eyes.
“Do you know how big God’s Grace really is?”
“I know it’s flavored with unlimited, unmerited favor,” I replied.
“Yes, but besides that. Let me tell you something. God’s Grace remains so huge that if you died tonight and you had 1000 plus unfinished things, including your writing, He would sing a heavenly song over them and it would be as if you had finished them all to perfection.”
I SMILED AND KEPT LISTENING.
