Evan’s wrinkled hands
Glisten
A warming gel
Reflects
Refracted
Silvery light
From November’s
Late night moon.

Evan’s aged
Shimmering fingers
Clasp
Head bows
Eyes close.

The gel…

A product of
Evan’s folded hands
And
Beating heart
And
Whispering lips
Uttering
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus

…Oozes his
Passion
His Love
His Hope
His prayer.

Evan’s sons
In tomorrow’s daylight
Sweat in a fog
Of biting
Swarming
Insects
As a gel
Warm
Anointed
Appears on their palms
Laid on foreheads
Of smiling
Black faces
Crying
Yesu
Yesu
Yesu
.

Clouds of bats
Splashing
In
And out
Of the moonlight
Above Evan
Whisper
Hiss
Humanism
Agnosticism
Anti-Realism
Terrorism

As they swoop
Pass the
Gray hair covered
Ears of Evan
With his wrinkled
Glistening
Clasped hands.

Evan’s sons
Hands lifted
Gel dripping
Down trembling wrists
Sparkling
In unabated sun
Singing
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
To the Lamb
.
As black faces
Lay prostrate
In old dust
Dampened with
New tears
Crying
Yesu
Yesu
Yesu

As flocks of
Buzzard-like birds
Scatter to find
Shade.

Evan speaks
Amen
Looking at
His gleaming
Gel covered
Hands
As rising reddish hues
Of morn
Persue
Diminishing dashes
Of fleeing bats
Chasing the moon.

Wow, you have a gift of symbolism. You could feel the fervent prayers of the father.

Wow! This is very deep. Very impressive writing. I found you thru a comment you made on mine this week. So glad I did. (by the way, I loved your comment you made, it really lifted me up and encouraged me!) I will certainly be watching for your writings in the future! God bless you, keep on writing for Him!
