Mr Duke a pentecostal christian started the fellowship 'to bring christians living in the estate together.Since its inception it has been gathering momentum. From three members it grew to five and then eight.
When Mr Duke the arrow head of the fellowship left the vicinity,I took it upon myself to see that the fellowship grow bigger. We rotated the meeting venue.Every Wenesday evening we will gather at one of the members apartment to share words of exultation.
When one of our members,a spiritual christian tried to influence the fellowship with the doctrines of his denomination,I pointed out to him in a polite manner that the fellowship was strictly interdenominational. The reactions of other members were not so polite. The fellowship for that day ended up unceremoniously.
Later,I mustered up courage to visit members individually, talk to them about the need to make the fellowship,a child of necssity in an estate twelve kilometres away from the urban centre where churches locate strong.
Sooner enough,we started our full fellowship, membership is now eleven and we keep to our weekly wenesday fellowships. As a catholic I derived strength and inspiration from the words of Late Pope John Paul, the second,'build bridges not walls' in the fellowship we build interdenominational bridges between churches and christians and the work of building bridges is still in progress.
