Living Stones

Sunday morning
Wise men

Living stones
Human flesh

Follow after
True light

Gather seeking
God together

Press together
Fill pews

Sing praises
Worship Him

“Lord God
Have mercy”

Honest words
Soulful pleas

Hunger gnaws
Longing grows

Weary hearts
Sacrificial altars

Desperate stones
Cry out

“Almighty One
Restore us”

Confess sin
Expose pain

Hide nothing
Repent again

“Lord, Lord
Feed sheep”

Deep calls
Deep replies

Jesus answers
With Himself

“I AM
Abundant life”

Body, blood
Transform stones

Holy Spirit
Rains truth

Hearts trust
His promise

Become like
Little children

Faith abounds
Joy restores

Living water
Wells up

Gushes forth
Renews within

Stones rejoice
Healed again

Share blessing
Know truth

Safely rescued
Power descends

Eyes flood
Heads bow

Grateful souls
Thank God

“Your refuge
Your strength

Your assurance
Your forgiveness

Your victory
Your love

Your peace
Your Spirit”

Joined together
One accord

Sing unbridled
Throaty praise

Stones merge
Shape house

God’s temple
Honors Him

“As you come to him, the living Stone – rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” I Peter 2:4-5

Beautiful verses, beautiful words! I like the end where I begin to see the building of the church through the worshipful attitude being cultivated through the previous verses. Wonderfully creative images.

I wish I could write like this. Each verse is stunning and powerful, and together they make a masterpiece.

Loved it. I like the short lines. God bless.
