Going back three years our church had a congregation of about 300 people when we joined and became part of the Praise and Worship team. There were seven of us in all. The pastor’s son led our team. We sang mainly Hosanna Integrity music. Within that same three years our church grew to 700 and this was a phenomenon for our area, since most churches were staggering in attendance. But the growth was helped by having such a strong praise and worship group. We all clicked and knew our parts well.
Each week we brought new pieces we had learned and the congregation really warmed up to this style of worship. The young people were getting more involved in the church and even began holding an all night prayer service on occasion. They would also sing and praise the Lord and young people were giving their hearts to Jesus, while others were rededicating their lives after having fallen away for so long. God was on the move in everyone’s life.
Now here we were at the gates of the Lord as we worship as one body at Kingdom Bound. Some folks had never heard this music before and were strangely drawn to the Savior. We were asked to be a part of this worship program, since the folks at Darien Lake and Kingdom Bound specifically wanted all the area churches to be introduced to a new style of worship. It was one that drew you right into the heart and throne room of the Lord. This really was the Gate of the Lord and we were all being ushered into His Presence. This was corporate worship at its best.
