What strange events will bind our lives,
Will shake our future at the core;
Who would have known what God would spark
The day I met the girl next door—

A summer day designed for walks,
My mind filled with the days gone by,
Along came skipping merrily
A lass ’round whom the fairies fly;

By fairy schemes she tripped mid stride;
I found the dreams I did not seek
As she had tumbled in my arms
And rosebuds bloomed upon her cheek.

That day new joy had dawned in life,
So many hopes and dreams were born,
I soon sought entrance in the heart
Of she I loved, who lived next door…

Abashed, so many awkward moments
Accompanied the following weeks,
But with each one I loved her more
As rosebuds bloomed upon her cheek.

One day, the blush I’d come to cherish
Had dawned because of something new,
When happiness had fueled the flame
To paint her cheek a lovely hue:

I asked her if she’d be my bride,
And ecstasy had reached its peak
When she replied with sparkling eyes
And rosebuds blooming on her cheek.

Oh, this is lovely! Whoever has a poet for a husband must be a happy wife! Beautifully written.

A charming poem, well constructed. I particularly liked the opening verse. Well done!

This is so nice. I'm not one who appreciates poetry much -- but this is so sweet. Nice job with the topic.

This takes me into a land of fairies! I love the light and airy feel of it-and of course, I'm with the ladies on this one that it IS romantic! Great job on this one, the title fits well too! ^_^

A very good poem. You must've fought hard to keep it consistant... the first two lines take on a whole new meaning when someone knows the outcome...
