Being confident means unquestionable, certain, firm, secure, in no doubt, absolute and unconditional. To be confident in our faith, we have to trust and obey the Bible teachings.
We must, “put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6: 11. The whole armor of God being, “the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.” Ephesians 6: 14 – 17.
As Christians, we have a calling to Persevere. In the book of Jude, we learn about the sin and doom of Godless men. But the Apostles foretold in verses 18 - 19 “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the men who will divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” But in verse 20 the scriptures clearly tell us to have the confidence to persevere. “But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in the most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.
In order to witness to the unsaved, we must be confident in the word of God. By continually praying and reading the word, we obtain the confidence to guard our lives with the sword of His word. The scriptures give us the complete road map to follow. In Jude 21, we are given the hope of eternal life. “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
To teach to babes in Christ, we must be confident that as we study the scriptures we will obtain the wisdom we need from the Holy Spirit. As we continue our walk with Christ, we can be confident that He will walk with us, and guide our steps toward His kingdom.
Do you have the confidence that only comes from a relationship with our Lord and Savior? Are you walking with Jesus? Ask Him to come into your heart today, and spend eternal life with Him in Heaven.
