Keeper of my lighthouse, please
Shine in me today.
Standing firm on God my Rock,
May I never stray.

I Am the solid Rock on which you stand.

Clouds of fear impair my sight,
Doubt upon the source.
Trying hard to do what’s right,
Help me stay on course.

I will always be there to light your way.

Keeper of my lighthouse, know
You are you in control.
Lead me from this gloom of night,
Compass for my soul.

I will steer thee beyond your darkest night.

Like ships off course I wander,
Onto darkn’d reef.
Lord, steer me safely yonder.
Bring me back from grief.

I will lead if you will only follow.

Keeper of my lighthouse, you
Bathe me in your light.
Radiance makes straight my path,
Shine with all your might.

I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.

Through this storm of dreadful pain,
Waves consume my life.
Bring me through my tempest strain,
Lead me from this strife.

I will guide thee through every storm of life.

Keeper of my lighthouse, come!
Let your bright light shine.
Casting doubts and fears away,
Save this life of mine.

Child, I Am the Keeper of your lighthouse.

Yes ... so beautiful. Words from the heart to touch many others. Structure, rhythm and rhyme 'spot on.' ;)
Jan Ackerson 05/24/07
Beautiful imagery, beautiful meter and rhyme, and I like the italicized interludes between each verse. A lovely, heartfelt poem.
Marilee Alvey05/24/07
You've done a super job here with rhyme and meter. Even more important is the message that you've so creatively woven into your word pictures. This is a poem to be proud of. Keep up the good work!
Amy Michelle Wiley 05/25/07
Lovely poem, and I mean it.
Sharlyn Guthrie05/25/07
I like the line between each rhyming verse. It's very effective. Your message and your imagery are both lovely.
Jacquelyn Horne05/26/07
This is a beautiful poem. To me it would have read smoother without the "extra" words from the lightkeeper. It seemed confusing to read. The poem stands alone very well by itself. And I think it is VERY good!
Benjamin Graber05/26/07
This is a lovely poem. I like the picture of Father being the Keeper of our lighthouse. Great job!
Julie Arduini05/26/07
Wow, this is amazing. I loved the input from the Keeper and how well this flowed. This touched me, I loved it.
Rhonda Clark 05/26/07
Wonderful job. Very inspiring.
Teri Wilson05/28/07
This is probably in the top three for me of all the poems I have read so far. It is beautiful and love the way you weave words from Scripture throughout. Very nice imagery and the whole thing flows really smoothly. I love it! Blessings, Teri
Henry Clemmons05/28/07
Very, very nice. Loved all of it!!!
Betty Castleberry05/28/07
Beautiful, hopeful, and easy to read. Well done.
Dee Yoder 05/28/07
Lovely poem. Just as your poem says, in my worst storm, the Lord was with me. I now know that in any future storms, I won't be alone. I like your imagery.
Myrna Noyes05/29/07
I love the imagery of this wonderful poem! I also like how you show that for every plea we make to God, He has the perfect assurance! Great writing! :)
David Butler 05/29/07
A prayer from the heart. The voice of God in response. That's the way a prayer should be. I could hear the waves crashing as i read.
Sara Harricharan 05/29/07
This is making me cry! It's sweet, beautiful and wonderfully heartfelt. I liked the italics between the verses, and the even metered ryhme. It just flowed really well. My only note is the last verse didn't have the double ryhme that some of the others had. Otherwise, it was very well done! ^_^
Loren T. Lowery05/29/07
A devine truth, beautifully and poetically put to words - thank-you so much for sharing this.
Verna Cole Mitchell 05/29/07
This is an absolutely beautiful poem, an absolutely wonderful prayer.
Kenn Allan05/29/07
Chrissy - this poem turned out wonderful! I love the italicized lines between stanzas; very effective! And look at all the encouraging comments. *wink*
Kate Grey05/29/07
Beautiful! I love the format with the stanzas and the italics in between.
william price05/29/07
I'm of the same opinion as teri. One of my favs. God bless.
Caitlynn Lowe05/29/07
Very well written, and I like the way the stanzas are separated by the individual lines.
Bryan Coomes05/29/07
Awesome. Well crafted, great flow, wonderful message. I have always loved lighthouses (I have a mantle full of them and a Kinkade tapestry of one hanging over the fireplace) and your imagery and characterization were great.
Cassie Memmer05/30/07
Beautiful and heartfelt. You've written a wonderful poem!
Rita Garcia05/30/07
Really...really blessed and inspirational!
Esther Gellert05/30/07
Ilove the way the Keeper replies to the current need throughout this. Such a beautiful reminder that God truly does know where we are at and what our needs are.
Edy T Johnson 05/30/07
Now, my dear, you need to have this set to music. I think it would make a smashing ballad!
Joanne Sher 05/30/07
Lovely imagery, and I adore the format of this. This touched my heart.
dub W05/30/07
I thought I had reviewed this earlier, shame on me, for this is beautiful. The structure and creativity make the poem jump off the page.
LaNaye Perkins05/30/07
This has to be one of my favorite poems so far. You touched my very soul with it. Great writing!
Angela M. Baker-Bridge05/30/07
Excellent job Chrissy. You did more than write this from your pain, you wrote this from your soul... and blessed us all. Angel
Lynda Lee Schab 05/31/07
I love this! Beautiful poetry that sings to the soul. Well done!
Marty Wellington 05/31/07
Wow - so heartfelt and touching. This poem truly gives hope to us all. You're a blessing.
Pam Carlson-Hetland05/31/07
Chrissy, this is just wonderful. I ditto all the comments above. I'm not much of a poetry person, but this one spoke to me loud and clear.
Rebecca Jones05/31/07
That brought tears to my eyes -- it was beautiful and a comfort for someone going through the storms of life. Thank you....
