Let the Music Begin
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you in singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
…Isaiah 55:12 KJV
Louvai ao Senhor, Louvai on Teu Nome rang out through the trees into the spaces between the banana plants and citrus trees. Even the cows perked their ears at the sound, and who knows, maybe the crickets stopped their tune to the creator, to listen to ours. Porches were occupied everywhere on the farmlands as music from the youth of over 150 sang praises to their God and King.
The campers felt the presence of God in those nights of darkness that hung low in the mountains. The A-frame chapel with one side completely glass, lit the property around it, glowing in the night, while teens listened to the Word of God being preached.
Not too many walked the dirt road after dark in the country side. Some feared the blackened night because of legends; the bottle became their comfort. Not lasting long, the alcohol wore off and a new day begun; a new God given opportunity for another lost soul. And a new opportunity it was, for one troubled lady.
Teresa told me her family loved hearing the sound of music coming from the camp. She heard praise and worship from Brazilian believers expressing their gratefulness to God Almighty. Their voices blended with rich harmony as if only one voice sang. The melody sounded as if the mountains sensed the presence of their creator.
Teresa saw me not long after this camp in front of the market place. At that moment she expressed how she was afraid of death. What an opportunity! That day, she came to know Christ as her Savior and today has her name written down in Glory. Wow! Now the mountains are truly rejoicing, and still continue to rejoice, as others have come to trust in the Lord.
Be a light in the darkness, because someone is standing so close to you and is waiting for light to be cast their way. Be the one to show them the way. I am the way, the truth and the life…John 14:6
Has the music stopped ringing in your ear, or is it in your heart where you have closed the door to its sound?
Sing all ye faithful! Sing your hearts as unto the Lord. He is greatly to be praised. Let the music begin!
