I won the lottery!

I've never played, but I just won 6 bucks. Had I played - or actually bought the tickets myself - I would have spent $20 to win $6. Okay, so I'm no Warren Buffett.

Here's what happened. I hadn't called into a radio station since forever to request a song. On a lazy day I was listening to 104.5 The Fox (a classic rock station, and yes, I'm that old) and decided to request the Kinks' early '80s hit, "Give the People What They Want."

So after I made my request the guy tells me I'm a winner. I say thanks, I know. He says, no you actually won something. I say, really, what? He says some lottery tickets. I say, great.

And so that's how I came to win the lottery. The radio station gave me 20 bucks worth of tickets, I scratched them all off and won 6 dollars.

I never did hear my song though.

I liked teh last part especially, grin. Hey,$6 is $6. That pays for about 2.5 gallons of gas or a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and a pkg of gum. If you are about my age you probably remember when $6 would buy alot more,ha!(yes, some of the songs from the 80's were cool. Grin.)Keep up the writing. God bless.

Love it. Never played but won the lottery. I also like that you never heard your song. Life in the real world, huh? It just shows how much people pay, then turn around and feel like winners. Thanks for the accurate depiction.

Cute story, but awfully short. Maybe more about the anticipation of winning, only to gather a $6 take.
