I could not paint a mountain view,
Not even if I wanted to,
But I can have within my goals
To bring Godís peace to troubled souls.

I could not sculpt a bust of clay
If I took lessons every day,
But I can give a word of cheer
That someone badly needs to hear.

I could not sing an aria,
Nor could I lead an orchestra,
But I can help a fallen friend
To find his way back home again.

I could not dance in a ballet,
Nor kick my heels in any way.
I can perform a thoughtful deed
Or help someone who is in need.

I could not play a piano,
A tuba or a bass cello,
But I can always do my part
To show the world a caring heart.

Of all the arts there are to use,
The art of kindness will I choose.
Iíll show His love in concrete ways
And pray my life to bring Him praise.

Very nice rhyme and meter, and a great message.

I like your poem, the way it moves along, well paced, well done.

I liked your Title. And your poem, although not perfect, is extremely well done as far as rhyme and meter. And I loved your message. Yes, kindness is an art... Nice work.

The art of kindness - I like that. This poem is well written and I like the message, too.

This is a very sweet poem...one that I'm sure many ordinary people can realate to. I like it a lot.

Thank you, Verna, for commenting on my "art" entry, because it means I have to come looking to get acquainted with you, too. I'm so pleased to "meet you," and read your sweet poem.

Congratulations on catching the judges eyes! You do have the ART for writing words of kindness and I'm glad to see your name "up in lights."

I am very impressed with your skills as a poet.
I agree with all those who have commented before me - very well done and, like all of your poetic creations, you have painted beautiful pictures with your words.
I am copying this as it is a great reminder to me how our Father can use our big and little gifts.
Thank you, Verna.
