I loved this story! From bittersweet memories to a past set free. Isn't it awesome that God makes everything beautiful in His time? This has my vote!

I must be getting dense! I wondered what the connection with the past and coming to church now, was and even your clue that this man hadn't come to church to meet God, went over my head. On second thought, maybe that's not such a bad thing — the revelation at the end was that much sweeter because it was a surprise. Good job.

Your description is amazingly vivid and engaging. I truly felt like I was right there. I picked up on where this was going about halfway through, but it certainly didn't spoil the story in the least. Wonderful writing.

Wow. Wow.
What an amazing testament to the Power of God...and the heart of a father.

Thanks, and God bless,

We don't often hear stories like these from the father's perspective. I guessed that the pastor was his son, but it was still an amazing story and a skillful telling of it.
