Very interesting piece of history. Too bad you only had 750 words to get it all in — I would love to "hear" more the story. Good job!

I like the way you wrote this character's narration; he wrote as a person fluent in English, but as a second language. And it's a very intriguing story--thanks for the education!

I love the idea of telling the Whitman's story from a native Nez Peirce's perspective. I hope you don't mind if I give you a bit of a critique since you're in Masters. I found that the rapid changes back and forth between simply telling facts, and showing a bit of the MC's thoughts and emotions was confusing. I would love to see the whole thing shown only through dialog and the boy's thoughts--I think it would really draw the reader into a personal connection with the story. That said, I found this interesting, thank you!
